At least 20 fire units and over 100 firefighters respond to a huge fire in East El Paso.
The blaze started near the intersection of Lee Trevino and Pellicano just before 7:30 Sunday night, at a new restaurant called Dryga. The building was still under construction and was set to open later this week.
The fire was so intense that firefighters had to battle the blaze from outside. Authorities say minutes after they arrived they heard an explosion and the fire quickly got out of control.
Firefighters were able to evacuate before the roof caved in and the walls collapsed. Firefighters were worried about more explosions because of paint and other chemicals inside the building.
Fire investigators say witnesses saw some suspicious vehicles outside the building shortly before the fire broke out. If you have any information, you are asked to call Crimestoppers.
