It looks like that help will be coming in the form of more federal reinforcements along the border.
The Obama administration is reportedly making plans to reassign more than 90 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to the U.S./Mexico border.
Another 37 agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are also being deployed to help contain the rampant violence of the Mexican drug cartel wars.
Some of the agents will be stationed in Las Cruces and others on the border with Juarez.
