El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — The first candidate has filed to take over a city council seat.
Claudia Ordaz announced her run Tuesday outside the county courthouse..
The El Paso Water Utilities public information officer is seeking the seat vacated by Rep. Eddie Holguin after his unsuccessful bid for county judge.
"I'm excited about this campaign, I'm excited to get out there and start knocking on some doors," said Ordaz. "There's a lot of work ahead of us so I'm really excited to get to work."
