El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The monthly arts, music and social celebration held in Downtown El Paso on the First Friday of the month is returning to the San Carlos Building Friday night.
La Parada, now in its fourth consecutive year, is a grassroots mini-festival representing the local culture and lifestyles of the Borderland and the southwest on the corner of Texas and Campbell.
Every first Friday, La Parada features and showcases a revolving roster of local and national talent, live DJ sets, dance performances, live art and eclectic vendors.
To commemorate Cinco de Mayo and the seasonal return of La Parada, organizers have lined up local flavors Superflats and Los Chamukos (former Fuga, Frontera Bugalu, Sons of Villa members) to perform instrumental sets, with appearances by DJs Rob Bass, System A, and Birth Defects. Headlining the show are Luck&Lana (Living Legends), an L.A. based due fusing EDM, hip-hop and bass.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for $1.00 taco and margarita happy hour at 501 Bar and Bistro in The San Carlos Building. Entertainment as follows:
- 9:00 pm - Superflats
- 10:00 pm - Birth Defects
- 11:00 pm - Los Chamukos
- 12:00 am - Luck (Living Legends) & Lana
- 1:00 am - Rob Bass & System A
Other downtown events Friday evening are: Chihuahuas  vs. Sacramento (7:05 pm), Seinfeld  at the Abraham Chavez Theater (7:00 pm), Alfresco Fridays  at the El Paso Convention Center Plaza (6:00pm).
