El Paso, TX — Miner soccer standout Tori Martyn has been recognized as a Top Ten senior at UTEP. She was officially presented the honor at the 2014 UTEP Honors Convocation at Magoffin Auditorium on April 13.
The awards are given out annually by the UTEP Alumni Association to the institution’s most promising future alumni. Individuals are selected based on a combination of academic achievement, involvement, leadership and service both in the community and on-campus, as well as the impression they have made on others during their time at UTEP.
Martyn, who boasts a 4.0 cumulative GPA in kinesiology, started 78 of 80 games during her career with the Miners. She logged 6701 minutes of playing time to rate sixth all time in program history while contributing nine goals and 10 assists for 28 points. UTEP rolled to a record of 44-32-7 during her career, including 12-6-3 in 2013.
She was a two-time (2012 & 2013) All-Conference USA performer in addition to being voted to the NSCAA All-Region Central Team in 2013.
Martyn also was well decorated for her achievements in the classroom, securing four C-USA Academic Medals and being tabbed to a pair of C-USA All-Academic Women’s Soccer Teams. The senior also was a 2013 Academic All-District Honoree.
