HORIZON CITY, TX -- The daughter of 85-year-old Pablo Mendoza smiled as she remembered her father and his legacy.
Marissa Teijo says her father spent his life working to make sure she and her three siblings would all have a good education and opportunities he and his wife did not.
Teijo says her father, who was confined to a motorized wheelchair following a knee injury several years ago, was well known by neighbors and his hobby was collecting aluminum cans in the neighborhood.
That's what he was doing yesterday morning at a Horizon City gas station when Sheriff's Deputies say he was hit and killed by a cement truck.
No charges will be filed against the driver, who investigators say didn't see Mendoza pull in front of his truck.
