Washington, D.C. — The brutal snowstorm that slammed into Washington, D.C. Monday shut down most government offices and many roads.
But, the storm did not stop Soldiers with the Old Guard as they braved the elements Monday afternoon at Arlington National Cemetery. They were paying respects and helping lay to rest retired LTC Edward Neumann. Neumann served from 1942-1975, during three major wars/conflicts.
Even though the funeral took place during heavy snowfall, driving wind, and frigid cold temperatures, the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment Soldiers stood strong to honor one of their own.
The pictures, courtesy of the U.S. Army, have been very popular on social media since they were posted Monday.
