Los Angeles, CA (CNN) — Actor, writer and director Harold Ramis is dead at 69, United Talent Agency said in a statement. As an actor, he was best know for the roles of Egon Spengler in "Ghostbusters" and Russell Ziskey in "Stripes." He co-wrote both screenplays. Ramis' writing credits also included "Caddyshack" and "Groundhog Day."
