El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Many El Paso parents are concerned Thursday evening after reports from other media surfaced today regarding possible cost cutting measures in the El Paso Independent School District.
The reports surfaced after an e-mail was accidentally sent to another television station outlining ideas presenting during a preliminary brainstorming session.
We spoke with EPISD Superintendent Juan Cabrera, who tells NewsChannel 9 that no plans are actually being pursued to close or consolidate any El Paso schools. Rather, he was soliciting input on ideas to cut costs as the district braces for nine million dollars in state funding cuts this year due to decreased enrollment.
If the plans become more concrete, you can count on NewsChannel 9 to bring you accurate and complete coverage.
