Las Cruces, NM — The New Mexico State track and field team travels back to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the Don Kirby Invitational on Feb. 14-15. This marks the final meet in the 2014 indoor season before the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 26).
The New Mexico State men’s tennis team will have three matches this week at the NM State Tennis Center, including a couple of Western Athletic Conference matchups. The Aggies, who sit at 4-2 in dual matches, begin the weekend by facing Missouri-Kansas City on Friday, Feb. 14. They will then play Northern Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 15, and finish off the weekend with a matchup versus Idaho on Sunday, Feb. 16. All matches are scheduled for a 1 p.m. (MT) start.
The New Mexico State women’s tennis team will begin its home schedule for the spring season with two matches at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies, who are 1-4 after trips to Phoenix, Ariz. and Las Vegas, Nev., will face Lamar on Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. (MT) and will finish off the weekend with a matchup against Northern Arizona on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. (MT).
The New Mexico State baseball team opens up the 2014 season this weekend in a four-game series versus Saint Mary’s. The series begins on Friday, February 14 at 6:05 p.m. at Presley Askew Field. NM State will then host a double header on Saturday, February 15, with first pitch in game one scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Game two is slated to start at approximately 5:05 p.m. The series will wrap up on Sunday, February 16 with at 12:05 p.m. start.
The Aggies continue at the NM State Softball Complex by hosting the Troy Cox Classic Feb. 14-16 for the 24th straight season. Making their way to Las Cruces for the tournament is Northern Colorado, Texas Tech, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Iowa State and Weber State. NM State faces TAMUCC at 4 p.m. on Feb. 14 and Iowa State at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Aggies host Northern Colorado and Iowa State beginning at 4 p.m. Closing out the weekend against the Aggies is Texas Tech at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 16.
The Aggies head out on the road to meet Chicago State and Kansas City, Feb. 13 and 15. First meeting Kansas City on Thursday, Feb. 13, the Aggies look to sweep the conference series against the 'Roos at 6 p.m. NM State then travels to Chicago State to meet the Cougars at 1 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on KSNM AM570 with Jay Sanderson making the call.
The NM State men’s basketball team comes home this weekend to face Kansas City on February 13 and Chicago State on February 15. The Aggies have only three home games remaining this season. NM State has won 19th consecutive conference-home games dating back to 2012.
