Thursday, April 22: UTEP Head Football Coach Mike Price noted the improvement of almost every single unit on the football team during spring drills, but one unit he was watching in particular. Price has hoped the wide receivers would step it up this spring, and he thinks they have done that, with the help of Senior Running Back Donald Buckram. Buckram has dominated the line of scrimmage when healthy, and that in turn has helped the receivers get open down field. Head Coach Mike Price noted, "I think that is part of it. If you have a great running back, you are going to have some great receivers to go with it. Great receivers usually will stretch the defense, and you will be able to run the ball." Junior Receiver Donovan Kemp added, "Exactly, that's why I have no problem with it, I say spread the wealth. If they are concentrating on Donald Buckram, that means the receivers are open downfield. Good opportunity to make big plays." The UTEP Spring Game will take place this Saturday, 6:00pm at the Sun Bowl. Admission is free and open to the public.
