I-10 East from Yarbrough to Lee Trevino was closed for almost two hours this morning after an accident involving an SUV and a semi.
It happened around 3:30 this morning on I-10 East just past the Lomaland exit.
According to Police, a 23 year-old woman in an SUV rear-ended a semi, lost control and hit the median. Her car exploded moments later.
An officer we spoke with said he saw flames shooting 20 feet in the air as he was approaching the scene.
Police tell us a witness to the accident pulled the unconscious woman out of her car as it burned. She was transported to Thomason Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
They say speed and alcohol may be factors in the accident.
