New Year's morning crash sends driver, passenger to hospital
San Elizario, TX (KTSM) — Two men were taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a violent crash that split a green BMW they were traveling in into two pieces around 2:05 a.m. on New Year's Day.
El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Socorro Rd and Thompson Rd in San Elizario, TX to a serious car crash that split a BMW into two pieces.
Deputies say they car was driving west on the 800 block of Thompson when the driver lost control during a sharp 90 degree turn and struck an electrical pole that split the BMW into two parts just behind the front passenger door.
The driver and his passenger were transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
EPCSO officials say the investigation into the cause of the wreck continues.
