El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE: El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies captured Carlos Medrano on Friday after they received a tip on his whereabouts. Medrano was initially contacted by phone, and he advised Deputies that he was not in El Paso. Deputies determined that Medrano was lying and was still in the El Paso area.
Deputies from the Warrants and Montana Patrol Station were able to monitor Medrano's movements and were able to arrest him after several days of surveillance. Medrano was arrested for an Assault warrant and multiple traffic warrants.
EPCSO say that additional charges are pending against Medrano for debit/ credit card abuse. Medrano was booked into the El Paso County Jail, where he remains at this time.
Medrano's arrest is the 165th capture out of 231 wanted fugitives profiled through Manhunt Monday, making the program a 71% success capture rate.
EARLIER: El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies are seeking information on the whereabouts of 25-year-old Carlos Medrano, who is wanted by EPCSO Deputies on Credit Card Abuse and Assault Causing Bodily Injury charges.
EPCSO Deputies say that Medrano has used information from Credit Cards in multiple cases to make various personal purchases without the knowledge or consent of the cardholder. EPCSO say that Medrano has been known to call and claim to work for an organization or represent a legitimate business in order to convince his victims to provide their credit card numbers to him.

Medrano has allegedly purchased items including furniture, vehicle tires, food at various area restaurants, online purchases and other miscellaneous expenses. Authorities are continuing to investigate several cases that may also be linked to Medrano.
Medrano is currently wanted on charges of Credit Card Abuse, and an unrelated Assault Causing Bodily Injury charge. He is described as Hispanic, 5 foot 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 140lbs with black hair, and brown eyes. He also is known by the name Avila, Medrano/Martin.
