Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua (KTSM) — The revitalization of Juarez is becoming international news.
The New York Times featured the city in a recent article, highlighting increased business in our sister city along with a decreased fear factor.
One of the business owners interviewed in the article said he moved his business from El Paso to Juarez, citing high taxes and negative attitudes towards Mexicans as part of the reason.
But it's not all great news for Juarez. More than 450,000 people reportedly fled the city between 2007 and 2011, and experts believe only 20 percent will return.
Low conviction rates and continued extortion still plague the city.
