El Paso, TX — In a unanimous decision UTEP’s Anthony Rotich repeated his 2012 honor and was named the Conference USA Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year announced the league on Tuesday.
Rotich’s honor is UTEP’s seventh Male Cross Country Athlete of the year award and the fourth consecutive.
Earlier this year, Rotich captured his second consecutive medalist honors at the C-USA Championship with a winning time of 24:31.57. He also placed second at Pre-Nationals (23:25.43) and at the NCAA Mountain Regionals (29:23.6), earning him an automatic individual spot at the NCAA Championship where he finished among the top 20. He also earned four C-USA Athlete of the Week honors and picked up his first C-USA All-Academic merit.
