El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Blake Farrey, the 19-month-old son of Jeffrey and Jenna Farrey is in the process of being returned to El Paso on Monday.
Officials with Child Protective Services of El Paso confirmed that the 19-month-old was being transferred out of Michigan foster care to Texas. El Paso CPS officials have no exact time frame when the transfer will occur.
"Our primary concern will be the safety and welfare of this child. We'll ensure he's seeing a pediatrician and receiving any necessary therapy. As with any CPS foster care case, we will also be seeking an appropriate relative placement." said Paul Zimmerman, spokesman for Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
As we've previously reported, Blake was taken into CPS custody after his younger brother, 5-month old Jackson Farrey, was found dead, buried in a remote part of Orogrande, NM.
The toddler's parents, Jeffrey and Jenna Farrey were arrested. Jeffrey is being charged in connection with Jackson's initial disappearance, more charges may be pending once the autopsy report is released. Jenna is being held on a parole violation stemming from a prior CPS case involving Blake.
Josh Herrera, Jenna Farrey's attorney confirms that Blake is still in Michigan, but they will know the exact date of his return to El Paso later this week.
It is still unknown who Blake will be staying with once he is returned to El Paso. We will continue to follow the story as it develops.
