El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The victim in Monday's deadly accident on US-54 near Diana has been positively identified as 19-year-old Jacklyn Hager.
Police say that Hager, along with friends Jocelyn Nunez, 21, Joe DeSantiago, 20, and Heidi Baca, 19 were in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am that was stalled in a southbound lane of traffic on US-54. A Ford F-150, driven by 52-year-old Craig Lewis was also traveling south when he crashed into the rear of the Pontiac.
Hager, who was the backseat passenger in the Grand Am died at the scene. Lewis, Nunez, DeSantiago and Baca were all transported to area hospitals for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Police investigators do not believe charges will be filed in this crash, however the case remains as an open investigation.
Hager was actively involved in El Paso's Cosplay and Anime community. Many of her friends have organized a roadside memorial service Tuesday evening in front of the El Paso Community College Transmountain Campus, 9570 Gateway N Blvd. from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
