LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Hundreds of people received free Thanksgiving groceries in Las Cruces Wednesday afternoon.
Molina Healthcare distributed 300 reusable grocery bags at the Save Mart on Valley Drive to help some of the families needing assistance with food items for Thanksgiving.
"I'm very thankful that we do have a lot of people that do these charities for people that don't have enough for their families," said Mara Saiz, who received a bag.
Inside the store shopping carts lined aisles filled with bags that included among other things canned foods, carrots and even stuffing for Thanksgiving Day meals.
The bags were given out on a first come first serve basis.
