El Paso, TX (KTSM) — EPISD officials announced that the district received a rating of “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ Schools FIRST financial accountability rating system.
The Superior Achievement rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of EPISD’s financial management and reporting system.
EPISD passed all 20 indicators and received a maximum score of 70.
This is the 11th year of the FIRST ratings, and EPISD has received a Superior Achievement rating every year.
The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant because of the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.
“We are pleased to receive the Schools FIRST Superior Achievement rating for the 11th consecutive year,” Superintendent Juan Cabrera said.
“This shows that EPISD is not only accountable for our students’ learning but that we take seriously our financial responsibility and use taxpayer dollars wisely and efficiently.”
