El Paso's own The City Magazine will partner with KTSM NewsChannel 9 to bring the magazine's annual “Best of the City” awards to the television screen this January.
“We are very excited to have KTSM as our exclusive television partner for The City Magazine’s 2nd annual “Best of the City” event. I believe that this is a ground breaking partnership for the El Paso market and believe that this will open up a tremendous amount of additional programming for KTSM while benefiting The City Magazine in exposure in the El Paso market," said Editor-In-Chief Shelley Mozelle.
The “Best of the City” television special will be hosted by KTSM anchors Adrienne Alvarez and Keagan Harsha and will feature a behind-the-scene look at The City Magazine and how the publication puts together the “Best of the City” awards issue. The special will also feature a piece on the benefiting charity sponsor, The Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso, and an inside preview of the musical talent at the event.
"There are so many positive things happening in El Paso," said KTSM General Manager Gary Sotir. "So many times, it's the bad news that grabs the headlines; we want to make sure we are not losing sight of the good," he added. "This unique event helps us highlight some of the good in our city - an opportunity we are always looking for."
The 2nd annual “Best of the City” awards will take place on January 17, 2014 at the Cutter Aviation Hanger located at The El Paso International Airport. The magazine will transform the facility with lights, music, pomp and the "Best of the City” award winners to put on the party of the year. Special musical guests will entertain an expected 1,000 guests and businesses. Some of El Paso’s best local restaurants and each of the “Best
of the City” award winners will also be showcased at the signature event. The Boys of Girls Club of El Paso will be the benefiting charity and will receive all of the door proceeds from the event.
