El Paso, TX (KTSM) — You can help keep some of our seniors warm by buying small comfort items this holiday season.
Home Instead Senior Care is once again teaming up with Walgreens and several different agencies around El Paso including Home Health and Hospice Care to be a Santa to a senior.
The event is in its 6th year in the Borderland. Senior citizens who are homebound and may not have a lot of family here in El Paso participate. A card with their name also has an item they would like for Christmas. Those who are hoping to bring a little holiday cheer to these seniors can do so by purchasing small, winter items.
"We ask for small comfort items. Things like socks, gloves, hats, house shoes, anything just to keep someone warm or keep somebody cozy during the holidays,” Jennifer Mansion with Home Instead Senior Care told us.
"It’s very heartwarming when we you just see gifts that the seniors are asking for. It's a pair of socks, some gloves, a scarf... So they're very simple gifts that really help out seniors,” Jon Williamson, the Community Leader for Walgreens explained.
