Las Cruces, NM — The New Mexico State volleyball team plays three matches this week. The Aggies wrap up a three-match road trip that started last Thursday with a match against Grand Canyon, Monday, Nov. 4 at 7p.m. (MT) in Phoenix, Ariz. NM State returns home and plays the rest of the regular season in the Pan American Center. The Aggies face Kansas City, Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7p.m. before facing Chicago State, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7p.m.
Radio Coverage: The Aggie Sports Network is airing three more matches over the radio waves this season, all on KSNM AM 570, with Jay Sanderson giving the play-by-play action. The matches airing in Las Cruces can also be heard from anywhere around the world on the Internet by logging onto www.NMStateSports.com . Just click on the live events link to access the coverage for a fee.
All three matches this week are set to air over KSNM AM 570 with match times starting at 7p.m. (MT).
Television Coverage: Six matches are scheduled to be produced for television by the AggieVision Production team this year. For a complete show times go to www.AggieVision.tv  or call your local cable provider. The next match that will be produced by AggieVision is, Tuesday, Nov. 12 when the Aggies take on UTEP. The season finale versus Utah Valley, Thursday, Nov. 21 is also scheduled to air on TV as a part of AggieVision.

About the Aggies: The Aggies won both their matches on the road last week and have won 10 of the last 12 matches. They have also won 12 of the last 15 matches. NM State is currently in first place in the WAC and heads into week 11 of play one game ahead of Utah Valley.
During conference play, the Aggies lead the league in hitting percentage at .267 while they are also tops in the league in opponent hitting percentage holding their opponents to .187 in 12 matches played. NM State also leads the WAC in blocks with 3.02 per set.
NM State returns five starters as well as a libero from the 2012 WAC Tournament Champion team. Leading the way for the Aggies are 2012 All-WAC selections, seniors Desiree Scott (middle hitter) and Lauren Loerch (outside hitter). NM State also returns senior libero/outside hitter Stephanie Ziegler who was named to the 2012 WAC all-tournament team. The Aggies finished the 2012 season with a 22-11 record while reaching the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history, all under head coach Mike Jordan.
This Week’s Opponents:
Grand Canyon University: The Aggies are set to take on Grand Canyon for the fifth time in program history (4-0). In their first match this season, NM State took the win from Grand Canyon in three straight sets (25-18,25-16,25-17) on October 24 in the Pan American Center.
Head Coach Kris Naber is in her 19th season with the Grand Canyon Antelopes and has coached the Antelopes to a 3-7 record in the WAC this season. Helping lead the Antelopes is senior Kaitlynn Ausmus who has 222 kills.
Kansas City: NM State is set to take on Kansas City for the second time in program history on Thursday November 7. NM State won the only previous meeting against Kansas City on Oct. 12, sweeping the ‘Roo’s in three straight sets (25-21,25-22,25-17) on the road.
Kansas City is currently sitting in sixth place in the WAC standings with a 7-5 record under third year head coach Christi Posey. The ‘Roo’s are led on the court by sophomore Emma Hagedorn, who currently leads the WAC in conference play with 125 total blocks on the season.
Chicago State: NM State will continue WAC play when they take on Chicago State for the second time in school history on November 9th in the Pan-American Center. In their first match-up between the two programs the Aggies swept the Cougars in three straight sets (25-18,25-16,25-12), Oct. 10.
At the helm of the Chicago State Cougars volleyball team is first year head coach Toby Rens who has an overall record of 2-24 on the season. On the court the Cougars are led by senior outside hitter Paula Sioto, who is second in WAC play in kills and is averaging 3.52 per set.
