On Saturday, October 26, 2013 just before 10 p.m. officers from the Alamogordo Police Department responded to the 1000 block of San Cristo.
The resident told police Andrew Perez, 22 years of age, was deliberately ramming his vehicle, a 2003 white in color Chevy Suburban, into the interior wall of his garage. There were several people, including children, inside the garage as Perez allegedly rammed his vehicle into the wall. The resident then tried to move people out of the way, that’s when police said Perez attempted to back up his vehicle and struck the resident, pinning him between Perez’s vehicle and another vehicle parked in the driveway. Perez then allegedly backed out of the driveway of the residence; drove down the street and struck several vehicles parked on San Cristo, which caused severe damage to those vehicles. The resident suffered minor injuries.
Police said Perez attempted to run from the officers, crashing his vehicle into the front yard of a residence in the 1000 block of San Miguel. They said Perez then attempted to flee on foot but was arrested a short distance later.
Perez was charged with: Reckless Driving, Resisting, Evading a Police Officer, Aggravated DWI among several other charges.
Perez is jailed on an $89,000 bond and will now appear in Magistrate Court. His mug shot was not yet available.
