Says he will support someoe who shares his "fiscally responsible" views
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Jaime O. Perez pulled out of the race for El Paso County Judge. He made the announcement at a private dinner Saturday evening.
Perez, a fiscal conservative, had expressed concerns over what he calls the “tax and spend” alliance. He said Saturday that he would remain politically active and would like to support someone in the race that shares his "fiscally responsible" views.
Perez announced he was seeking the Democratic Party nomination for El Paso County Judge on September 30, challenging incumbent Veronica Escobar.
Perez was the second challenger to Escobar. Longtime El Paso businesswoman Aliana Apodaca also entered the race in September.
Perez said he expects more candidates will announce that they are entering the race in the next few weeks.
