Las Cruces, NM — The New Mexico State cross country team travels to Sunnyvale, Calif., for the Santa Clara Invitational on Oct. 19. The Aggies enter competition after a week off. Junior Diana Hawk continues to lead the women’s team and finished first for NM State and 17th overall in the Rim Rock Classic (Oct. 5). On the men’s side, junior Hab Rubio finished first for the Aggies at the last meet. This marked the first time he has paced the Aggies. Junior Nathan Starr has led the men’s team in the rest of the meets this season.
The New Mexico State Aggies (0-6) welcome the Rice Owls (4-2, 3-0) to Aggie Memorial Stadium, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two schools. You can listen to all the action with the ‘Voice of the Aggies’ Jack Nixon and color analyst Preston Williams beginning at 5 p.m. on KGRT 104 FM. Also catch the action in Spanish with Bob Sherman and Sal Betancourt on Vista 98.7 FM. AggieVision will produce and distribute the game. The game will be televised live on Comcast New Mexico, CW-El Paso, CSN-Houston Plus and tape delayed on Altitude at 6:30 p.m.
The New Mexico State University men’s tennis team heads to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in its final tournament of the fall schedule, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Regional Championships. The five-day tournament will run from Wednesday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 20.
NM State (4-9-2, 1-5-1 WAC) continues on the road with a trip to Grand Canyon on Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m.
The New Mexico State volleyball team takes on two WAC opponents on the road this week. NM State faces Bakersfield at 8:00 p.m. (MT), Thursday, Oct. 17 in Bakersfield, Calif. and Utah Valley at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 in Orem, Utah. Both matches are scheduled to air on KSNM AM 570 with Jay Sanderson giving the play-by-play action.
Aggie fans have their first chance to get a look at the 2013-14 NM State men’s basketball team during the Crimson & White scrimmage, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 p.m. (MT) in the Pan American Center. Admission to the event is free.
