El Paso, TX — Austin Trout (26-1, 14 KOs) is close to annoucing his next big fight against current WBA interim champion Erislandy Lara (18-1-2, 12 KOs) December 7, 2013 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, for the WBA interim Light Middleweight World Title. The teams are still negotiating the terms and the paperwork has not been signed. The fight will be a co-main event of Zab Judah (42-8, 29 KO’s) and Paulie Malignaggi (32-5, 7 KO’s) in a Golden Boy Promoted card on Showtime.
Austin tweeted on Twitter, “It’s done! Getting back to my winning ways December 7th vs @Laraboxing No need to call me out I’ll fight anybody!”
Lara (18-1-2, 12 KO) is from Guantanamo, Cuba, and last fought on June 8, stopping Alfredo Angulo in the 10th round.
Trout will be climbing back into the ring after he lost a unanimous decision to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez at the Alamodome in San Antonio on April 20, 2013. Trout is 26-1 with 14 knockouts.
