El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Mother Nature is serving up colder temperatures and raging winds as fall sets up shop in the Borderland.
Temperatures dropped several degrees Thursday afternoon and it's expected to get even colder at night.
"I'm pretty cold right now and it's pretty chilly and it sucks because I don't like the windy weather. Earlier, it was all dusty and like it got me all dirty and stuff," said Michael Garcia.
"Personally, I don't like the windy weather just because it starts bringing up all the dust, allergies kick in, which can really ruin your day," said Stephanie Ramos.
The winds started up just around noon on Thursday and areas like Central El Paso saw gusts of up to 45 miles per hour.
"I think the weather is fabulous considering it's the second week of autumn and clearly, you know, we have not changed - the foliage is still green," said Anna Valenzuela.
"Well, you know what, it's not too bad, kind of makes everything nice and cool. Fall weather is upon us. I don't mind it at all," said Ray Borrego.
The fall weather whipped up trouble around town, kicking up debris and beating up trees and traffic signs, as well.
But NewsChannel 9 caught up with people from out of town who said it could always be worse.
"Well, you guys are not shoveling snow outside in 0 degree weather. So, right now it's tropically hot for us," said Xuan Nguyen from Denver, Colorado.
"It's cold coming from Arizona, compared to Colorado, where I was this morning, it's really hot because I was freezing this morning," said Ian Christensen, another visitor from Denver, Colorado.
