EL PASO, TX — The end of the monsoon season also marks the last day that El Paso Water Utilities (EPWU) will be distributing sandbags at their satellite locations. The last day to pick up sandbags at the satellite locations will be Tuesday, Oct. 1st at 8pm. EPWU says that these satellite locations will reopen next summer.
The Stormwater Operations Center, located at 4801 Fred Wilson is open year-round and customers can get sandbags Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday October 2nd.
EPWU says that sandbags are used for flood control purposes only and customers are limited to 15 sandbags per visit. Those who have difficulty lifting heavy items are encouraged to come with someone who is able to assist with loading and unloading the bags.
