El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — Two successful contestants on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" Season 14 talk about their weight loss journey and current struggles with a local teen on his way to getting in shape.
NewsChannel 9 featured Roger Vasquez, 19, in July for his use of social media to combat obesity.
Roger had been battling the disease since he was a child, and had reached 450 pounds before beginning his weight loss journey on Memorial Day weekend.
Since then, Vasquez has lost 72 pounds.
His biggest struggle?
"Consistency," he said. "Honestly it's hard to keep that motivation alive."
Former "Biggest Loser" contestants, Jeff Nichols and Francelina Morillo stopped by for an interview with words of encouragement for the teen.
" I think I struggle now more to keep it off than to take it off," said Nichols, who now weighs around 230 pounds, and was 23 pounds lighter at the show's finale.
"After normal hydration, normal eating, normal working... it's very hard to maintain the weight loss," he said.
The contestants were in town promoting the "Biggest Loser" RunWalk Half Marathon, 5K, 1-mile Kids Run set for January 26.
