EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — In the midst of Thursday's flood-stricken craziness across the Borderland, one of the storm's smallest victims was rescued by NewsChannel 9 reporter Anoushah Rasta.
Anoushah was wrapping up a story about flooding in central El Paso, when she found a small dog wandering the streets.
"She was about to get hit by a car, so I stopped and picked her up," Anoushah said. The small gray dog, bearing no identification tags or microchip, was infested with ticks in her ears.
Anoushah carried the quiet pup to NewsChannel 9 inside her camera bag, and the search for a home began. But first, the little terrier needed to get to a veterinarian - stat! The NC9 team called the Animal Emergency Center on Airway, and they stepped in to give the pup immediate medical attention.
NewsChannel 9 is still looking for a "forever home" for the sweet little girl; in the meantime, one of the NC9 producers will provide a foster home.
