EPSO: Allegedly fled to avoid noontime traffic stop
El Paso, Tx — A mile-long, high-speed chase in the city's Upper Valley results in the arrest of one man.
According to El Paso County Sheriff's officials, 28-year-old Luis Miguel Salcido was driving southbound on Doniphan shortly after 12:30 Thursday afternoon. Deputies say Salcido's Honda CRX had no inspection certificate or registration sticker.
When deputies attempted to stop Salcido, he allegedly sped away. Salcido then turned eastbound on to Borderland, and continued for another mile before deputies could make the stop at the intersection of Borderland and Berringer.
Deputies arrested Salcido, who was then transported to the jail and charged with Evading Detention with a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $3,000.
EPSO officials say Salcido has a previous conviction for racing on a highway & has been arrested for other numerous offenses.
