Auto sales in the United States are bouncing back stronger than ever. GM, Ford, and Chrysler group all reported double-digit increases in August. Japanese rivals Toyota and Nissan also reported large sales gains.
Overall sales came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 16.1 million which is up from 14-point-5-million a year ago, that's according to industry tracker Autodata.
It marks the first time the industry has passed the 16-million mark since before the recession started in late 2007.
