Grand Prairie, TX — El Paso put the tying-run on second base in a near ninth-inning comeback, but Grand Prairie closer Patrick Mincey closed the door just in time. Mincey nailed down his 22nd save for a 5-4 AirHogs win.
The Diablos’ rally heightened the importance of an eighth-inning home run by AirHogs DH Palmer Karr. With one on and one out, Karr drilled his 10th home run of the season to expand Grand Prairie’s lead to three runs. After El Paso mounted a charge in the ninth, Karr’s homer stood up as the deciding factor in the game.
