An El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy arrests a man for allegedly displaying a counterfeit inspection sticker.
According to EPSO, the deputy was patrolling O'Shea Drive in the Montana Vista area when he spotted a silver pick-up truck traveling northbound, driven by 51-year-old Antonio Miranda.
The deputy noticed that Miranda's truck had a 2012 Motor Vehicle Inspection Sticker on the windshield, but it was outdated and displayed a "3" to read an expiration of 2013.
The deputy stopped Miranda and arrested him for displaying a Fictitious or Counterfeit Inspection Certificate.
EPSO officials remind the public that to display, cause, or permit a fictitious or counterfeit inspection certificate is a Class "B" Misdemeanor , punishable by confinement in Jail not to exceed 180 days, a fine not to exceed $2,000 or both (Transportation Code Sec. 548.603 (a).
