El Paso, TX — In a series that already had its winner decided last night, the Diablos and Saltdogs played a tension fueled game three, as the Saltdogs defeated the Diablos 10-6 in extra innings.
Right from the start both team matched each other scoring three runs in the first inning, but the Diablos had a one run lead by the end of the third inning, 4-3 over the Saltdogs going into the fourth inning.
In the middle of the game there was not that much action, but by the end of the sixth inning the Diablos extended their lead to two over the Saltdogs. Then in the bottom of the seventh inning a brawl between both teams took place were nine players were ejected during the process, after the altercation the Diablos had a 6-4 lead going into the eighth inning.
After things got sorted out the Saltdogs quickly jumped out scoring two runs in the top of the eighth inning and tied the game at 6-6. It would take three more innings until the next runs were scored; unfortunately the Saltdogs scored four runs in the bottom of the 11th inning and took the game 10-6 over the Diablos.
The Diablos are now 36-54 this season as they finish their three game series with the Lincoln Saltdogs. The Diablos start another three game series tomorrow night against the Sioux City Explorers, 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
