Mexico's president says he is determined to quell the drug violence in the country by the time he leaves office in 2012, at least to a point where the military and federal police can withdraw from violence plagued cities. However, Felipe Calderon says smuggling cannot
be eliminated as long as Americans continue to use drugs. According to The Associated Press, President Calderon also disputes U.S. fears that his government is losing control of its territory.
