El Paso, TX (KTSM) — A five-year-old is in the hospital with serious injures after El Paso Police said a motorcyclist hit him in Far East El Paso.
The accident happened on Tierra Venado and Tierra Fiji in a neighborhood near North Zaragosa and Edgemere at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
Police said a five-year-old boy was crossing the street when a motorcycle hit him and left the scene.
The motorcyclist did end up calling police and told them he hit the young boy.
Paramedics rushed the boy to University Medical Center with serious injuries, but he's now in stable condition.
El Paso Police said the boy was accompanied by a parent when he was hit.
"The child was walking with an adult family member and they were crossing the street. As far as how close in proximity the two were i don't know, but there was an adult present prior to the child being struck," El Paso Police Spokesperson Mike Baranyay said.
