EL PASO (KTSM) — A group of El Pasoans joined together on Friday to make sure all students have the opportunity to start school with everything they need.
KISS FM wrapped up their annual "Stuff the Bus" event which collected a mountain of much-needed school supplies.
Joining the effort, L and J's restaurant opened its doors Friday to receive the donations. Walmart played a major role in the program by donating four pallets of school supplies and $350 in gift cards.
Kimbery Johnstun, Walmart Marketing Director, said, "This is just a great organization to begin with, and it's very tough as a single mom or parent to get their kids school supplies. So, it is a great opportunity for us to be able to give back to our community and give back to those parents who are shoppers and are customers."
KISS FM has been at different collection sites daily. School supplies will be distributed with assistance through the Price's "Give 'em Five Fund."
