El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — A new school year is now just days away in El Paso, and another high school principal has already been placed on leave. John Tanner has been removed as principal of Austin High School, pending the outcome of an employee relations matter. Tanner was named in a forensic audit of EPISD as an educator who allegedly played a part in the district's cheating scandal and gave credits to students who didn't deserve them.
Tanner was removed from his job in March, but was quickly reinstated after hundreds of parents and students rallied for his return. His lawyer tells us his removal this time has nothing to do with the cheating scandal.
