LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Governor Susana Martinez made an appointment to the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners Monday to fill the vacancy after the resignation of Chairwoman Karen Perez.
Benjamin Rawson will be sworn in Tuesday morning and serve as commissioner for for the Third District for a little more than 16 months, the remainder of Perez's term.
Rawson is the general manager of Rawson Inc. Builders Supply, a Las Cruces company that specializes in the manufacture, distributing, and installation of doors, windows and many other home supplies.
Rawson is a fourth-generation native of Dona Ana County and where he lives with his wife and three children.
Rawson's term will end on December 31, 2014.
