El Paso, TX — After a grueling six games in three days the Diablos once again dominate the Amarillo Sox, winning 8-2 and 5-2 tonight, and the overall series 5-1 over Amarillo.
In game one the Diablos attacked the Sox early, after the first two innings the Diablos had a commanding lead of 6-1, with no signs of letting up. To go along with the Diablos early offensive attack, starting pitcher Kevin Cooper was superb pitching the whole game only giving up two runs on three hits, with one strikeout. The Diablos offense might have slowed as the game went on, but not before they scored 8 runs on twelve hits, all but one Diablo recorded a hit in game one.
In game two, great pitching carried over from game one, this time it was a multitude of pitchers for the Diablos (four to be exact), the Sox offense was once again stifled, only scoring two runs. Early in the game the Diablos were down 2-0, but after a four run third inning, the Diablos took the lead and never looked back, as they won 5-2.
The Diablos are now 30-51 this season as they finish their six game series against the Amarillo Sox, winning the overall series convincingly 5-1. The Diablos will be off for two days, but will be home on Tuesday to start their three game series against the Laredo Lemurs.
