El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Cowboys and cowgirls took to the El Paso County Coliseum Saturday evening to watch the Southwestern International PRCA rodeo. The 84th edition of the rodeo came to town and featured riders, team ropers, and of course - rodeo clowns. El Pasoans showed up in their best cowboy boots and ten gallon hats to see the talent.
We asked Professional Team Roper, Shay Carroll how he was feeling about visiting the Sun City." It's great. I've never been here before my family's all from this area so I'm happy to be back,” Carroll explained.
We also asked Rodeo Competitor Gearen Hale how he was feeling about competing. “Oh, pretty good. It's a good rodeo. I have a lot of fun. Did some good here last year so hopefully do it again,” Hale said.
The rodeo began on the 8th and will ride out into the sunset on the 11th.
