El Paso, TX — In a game that last more than four hours the Diablos came away with a late game win in the ninth inning, as they take game one of their three game series against the Wichita Wingnuts, 8-7.
The Diablos jumped out early scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead, but the Wingnuts slowly crept back in cutting down the Diablos lead inning by inning until they had a two run lead going into the sixth inning.
As the Wingnuts came away with their best inning of the game scoring three runs, the Diablos answered right back with their best offensive inning scoring four runs to take a 7-5 lead going into the last innings of the game.
In the seventh and eighth the Wingnuts scored one run to tie the game going into the ninth inning, which seemed destine for extra innings. The Diablos wanted no part in extra innings though, as they loaded the bases, and capped off the night with a Jonathan Cisneros game winning RBI single.
The Diablos are now 21-46 this season with two more games against the Wichita Wingnuts in their three game series, the Diablos play tomorrow night, 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
