Friday, April 2: It looks like one of El Paso's finest ballplayers will be starting the season in the Minors. On Tuesday, former Socorro Bulldog and current Colorado Rockie Omar Quintanilla was sent down to the Minors in Colorado Springs. Quintanilla was batting .375 this spring. It's been a wild two seasons for Quintanilla, who hit a game winning home run back in 2008, and saw action in 81 games last season, but rarely played toward the end of the season. To make matters worse, Quintanilla sprained his acl in his left knee, and Rockies media relations told Newschannel 9's Beau Bagley that he will be out at least four weeks.
