EL PASO (KTSM) — The project for three new University Medical Center clinics are closer to completion.
Commisioners court received a report about the project's planning and listingm UMC'S CEO Jim Valento also spoke about the success of the 152 million bond sale for the project.
"that provided us a blended interest rate of 3.84 percent and it provided us a savings on the refunding, we were budgeting five to seven million it came in at 9.1 million which equates about a half a million dollars of debt service per year of savings important for taxpayers" Valenti said.
The clinics will be built in west, far east, and central El Paso, they will provide services for uninsured and low income El Paso residents, construction will begin next year.
