El Paso - Retail gasoline prices leveled off in Texas this week after five straight weeks of increase.
The weekly AAA Texas price survey released shows the average price of regular unleaded across the state fell 2 cents per gallon to $2.69. Nationally, the average price fell 3 cents to $2.79.
The cheapest gasoline is in San Antonio, where regular unleaded fell a penny to an average of $2.61. The most expensive is in El Paso, where it remained unchanged at $2.74.
An auto club statement says this week's increase in the average crude oil price to about $84 per barrel isn't reflected yet in the price of gasoline at the pump.
It also said, however, that some retail prices increases weren't sustainable because of decreased demand.
