A jury duty scam is impacting people across the entire nation.
Victims will initially get a phone call from a person claiming to be a "jury duty coordinator."
The ‘coordinator’ tells the victim that they have skipped out on jury duty. When the victim says they didn't, the thief will ask for a social security number so they can "check their records."
Of course, once that happens, the victim's identity is stolen.
The scam has been reported in 11 states so far.
Any questions about jury duty should be directed to El Paso County court.
