EL PASO, TX (KTSM) — Mountainstar Sports Group said they will not issue personal guarantees for the Triple A ball park.
El Paso City Council asked the team ownership group for millions of dollars in personal guarantees. Tuesday, the group's attorney went before City Council and said they would not agree to the guarantees, but would cover any costs that exceed the stadium's $64 million cap.
"They said that if they are going to change anything they're gonna pay for it and they're not even going to come back and say we want you guys to finance it," said Mayor Oscar Leeser. "They're not coming back to us any longer and we will have that in writing and I'm really excited about that"
The Triple A stadium is currently under construction and will be ready for 2014 season.
