Eye doctors are reminding folks to keep safety in mind as we approach the 4th of July holiday.
Sparklers are considered kid-friendly, but according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, they're most likely to cause injuries. Sparklers typically burn at 12 hundred degrees nearly one thousand times hotter than the boiling point of water. Doctors recommend that only adults handle fireworks and wear protective eyewear.
About 45 percent of fireworks-related injuries involve kids age 15 and younger.
